TelTail Lights
The TelTail Lights (TTL) project allows users to add a head light, tail light, RGB side lights, and even a horn to their DIY eskate build. With its small size and plug-n-play design, the TTL kit makes these additions as simple as possible. Using the Android App, users can customize the settings of each lighting mode and read out live data from the motor controller and onboard sensors. A wide range or remotes are compatible with the TTL system, allowing riders to control the lights (turn on/off, cycle modes, activate horn, ect.) convieniently form the same remote used to control the board.
Drag Image to Rotate
VESC based ESCs are by far the most common motor controller used for building DIY electric skateboards today. Because of this, a number of products have come out which allow you to expand the functionality of these motor controllers. To name a few:
- Metr Pro: A bluetooth module that allows the user to read and record live data like battery voltage, battery current, motor curret, mosfet tempurature, and much more
- DAVEga: A display that mounts to the deck of an eskate to provide a live readout of important information like speed, battery voltage/percentage, battery current, motor current, and more
- Remotes with Telemetry: Remotes like the FeatherRemote, Firefly Remote, VX1, and VX2 that display live data like speed, battery voltage/percentage, battery current, motor current, and more, on a built in screen.
- TelTail Lights: A lighting kit for DIY eskates that provides the ability to add a headlight, tail light, RGB side lights, and even a horn.
Because of the growing number of assecories created for VESC based ESCs, DIY eskate builders are often frustrated that they have to make the tough decision of which ONE accessory will be plugged into the comm port on the ESC. To eleviate some of this frustration, I have created the uSplit. The uSplit is a UART Splitter for VESC based ESCs that allows the one UART comm port of the ESC to have up to 3 different devices plugged in at once.
